School Curriculum

To ensure all-round development, we focus on six areas of learning:

  • Personal and social development
  • Language and Literacy knowledge
  • Mathematical Understanding
  • Knowledge and Understanding of the world
  • Physical Development 6. Creative Development

Pre-nursery: 2-3 years

Our Pre-nursery children explore their immediate environment and also get to know themselves better. They have fun with art, discover basic shapes, explore different colours, sing simple songs, learn how to move to a rhythm, listen to short stories and, of course, make friends in class. The pre-school environment is designed to provide learning spaces catering to various interest areas and specific kinds of play, for e.g. Book corner, art space, sand and water play area.

Nursery: 3-4years

Our Nursery children explore their surroundings and people around them. They acquaint themselves with materials with different grips, they identify a larger number of shapes and colours as well as letters and numbers, they learn about patterns and other creative designs, they are exposed to a higher level of creative movement and storytelling, and they enjoy a sense of independence through self-help tasks. Our curriculum is built around teacher and child initiated learning activities where both are active partners in the learning process.

Junior K.G.- 4-5- years

Our Junior k.G. children expand their explorations from the school in the neighbourhood and beyond. They ask and answer questions, solve problems and interact with other children and adults as they pursue their choices and plans. They can read, write and converse in English, they move with greater control over their body, they familiarize themselves with complex shapes, patterns, shades of colours, they learn about time and weather, they start to apply their imagination to creative writing, they can measure and understand the different forms of comparison. Children are introduced to numeracy and literacy at this level.

Senior Kindergarten II:5-6years

Our Sr. K.G. Children are motivated and well equipped to face the challenges of the formal schooling system. They are healthy, caring individuals, good communicators, independent thinkers, lifelong learners and global citizens. They explore their environment in depth. Their reading, writing and communication skills improve. They are engaged in simple logical thinking and problem solving exercises. They are aware of safety precautions as well as the health and hygiene standards. Teachers give children a sense of control over the events of the day by planning a predictable yet flexible daily routine. They assess each child's progress and plan educational experiences that will encourage further learning.

The Primary School includes students between 6 to 11 years in Grades 1 to 5.

Keeping in mind a view of the future world helps us decide what kind of learning the children will need and knowing what kinds of learning they need guides us to what learning should look like in the classroom. We offer the Primary Years Programme in the primary school. This curriculum framework includes subjects like languages, social studies, mathematics, science and technology, arts, and personal, social and physical education which provide students with a broad and developmentally appropriate academic experience that emphasizes the inter-relatedness between subjects. The curriculum promotes an international perspective which recognizes and welcomes the diversity of student experiences and backgrounds.

Classroom teaching and learning practices stimulate curiosity and inquiry in order to foster a spirit of discovery and enjoyment of learning, equipping students with the skills to learn and acquire knowledge, individually or collaboratively and to apply these skills and knowledge accordingly across a broad range of areas. We use an inquiry-based approach where our teaching methods build upon individual understanding, knowledge and interests, emphasising how to learn and how to delve deeper, while developing critical thinking skills. A variety of teaching and learning strategies which includes real life experiences are adopted to engage our students in purposeful, engaging and active learning. We provide our students with access to technology in the classroom through a vast array of devices and online resources.

The core curriculum is taught by the class teacher while Hindi, Visual Arts, Music, Physical Education, Library by specialist teachers. Information Communication Technology is integrated into all aspects of the curriculum.

We also aim to develop appropriate attitudes, including appreciation, commitment, confidence, cooperation, creativity, curiosity, empathy, enthusiasm, independence, integrity, respect and tolerance.
The students are encouraged to apply all that they have learned by taking action, not only in the school community, but also in the wider world. Effective action is voluntary and involves the students in exercising their own initiatives and taking on responsibilities.
A variety of assessment strategies are used to gather information about what students know, how they are developing and finally, what they have learned. Students are given opportunities to share their learning and understanding with others in the form of student led conferences.
